REVIEW OF PRISON EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN ENGLAND – NEW REPORT!

This newly published report presents inspection findings on the quality of education, training and work in prisons in England. It draws upon relevant government policy documents and research reports linked to evidence-based policies and practices.

Key findings incorporate evidence drawn from:

  • a review of 45 inspection reports published by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons and Probation (HMIPP) from September 2015 to August 2017, that include judgements made by Ofsted[1]
  • a review of policy documents and reports on education and training in prisons, with specific reference to the national agenda to reduce reoffending.
