Career Development is a Superpower
Our global and local labour markets are changing in dramatic ways and our policies and programs are struggling to keep pace. Youth anxiety is soaring, parents are panicked, new graduates can’t seem to get a foothold and too many workers are miserably counting their days until a retirement that may seem increasingly out of reach. These are issues that keep us up at night…and they are all career development issues. Never before has there been a time when career development issues are more at the heart of our collective angst – and our collective hope – as a society. Drawing on resilience research, international perspectives on policy and frontline wisdom, this keynote will make the case that career development is, in fact, a superpower and our field is uniquely positioned to be a transformative force for socio-economic health.
