This international policy paper was commissioned by the DfE and written by Pye Tait consulting and Carol Stansfield consulting. It draws upon 5 major international literature reviews published since 2016 and aimed at answering two main questions.

What are the features of Careers Information and Guidance (CIAG) in other countries?

What recent causal or outcome evidence is there regarding the mpact of CIAG?

Recomendations in this report include: starting careers guidance activities early; approaches and interventions tailored appropriate to age and the need for activities that encourage self reflection. The reviews emphasise the importance of employer engagement in CIAG activities.
