EPALE: EDUCATION PLATFORM FOR ADULT LEARNING IN EUROPE
There are many great articles in this European Commission website covering a wide range of adult learning topics. The website is designed to offer insights and reports for policymakers, researchers and practitioners. Visit: https://ec.europa.eu/epale/en
For example, I’ve recently read this interesting blog by Andrew McCoshan (30/04/2018) – “Reaching out to older workers: assembling the pieces of the guidance jigsaw”. He poses the question “How do we equip older workers with the career management skills they need not only to stay in the labour market for longer but also to achieve personal fulfilment during their working careers?” – https://ec.europa.eu/epale/node/59482
I particularly like his contribution in challenging us all to think hard about impact. He states: “In a context where the key stakeholders may need persuading of the value of guidance services, it becomes all the more important to build a solid base of evidence to demonstrate what type of interventions work. Monitoring the outcomes of policies and practices, and assembling examples of what works and why, are a key part of the jigsaw.”
