DFE: CONSULTATION ON QUALIFICATIONS
April 4, 2019 dmh

Consultation on Qualifications: Closing date 10 June 2019

DfE has published its consultation on Level 2 and below qualifications. This is mainly focused on young people but it also has significant longer-term implications for adults. Also, there important issues to be addressed regarding what happens if these qualifications are not made available for young people? Awarding bodies may reduce their level of support.

It is really important that you respond to this consultation. Some key messages:

  • National Skills: For many, Level 2 will be their highest level qualification,. We have to make this as best as possible.
  • Jumping off point: Level 2 is often the appetiser that leads onto a job and/or further study
  • Progression: A skills and careers support system which goes from pre -entry to level 2 and beyond.
