INSTITUTE FOR EMPLOYABILITY PROFESSIONALS – LATEST RESEARCH: CURRENT POLICY AND PRACTICE PERSPECTIVES
The Institute for Employability Professionals (IEP) has reecently published the 4th edition of their journal with dialogue and debate from the employability sector in which it shares articles and contributions from the sector. In this edition among the many interesting and useful contibutions are two articles, one by Deirdre Hughes and also by Senior Associate Chis Percy.
Deirdre’s contribution entitled ‘Quality matters: transforming
individual’s lives’ explains why quality matters in a changing employability landscape and goes on to introduce five key issues that help
employability professionals transform the lives of job seekers including: Decent Work; Formal and informal transitions to learning and work: Digital advancements; Foregrounding spaces and places and Qulaity matters
Deirdre is working with the IEP on behalf of the Growth Company on a formal review of the Matrix Standard and invites everyone to join with them by contributing to the co-creation of the Standard
Chris Percy’s contribution is entitled ‘Quality and continuous improvement. The careers chatbot revolution’. Chris highlights the fact that “A chatbot revolution is underway. The
premise is that simple questions should be answered by technology wherever possible, to save everyone time – both in answering questions and in getting answers as fast as possible.“
Chris sites examples of chatbot design in a career related application and finally introduces our new prototype chatbot ‘CiCi@ developed by Deirdre, Chris and two colleagues. he introduces three levels by which a practitioner facing chatbot can add value: Level 1 – Resource for
employability professionals; Level 2 – A joint tool for both practitioner and client; Level 3- Integrated public-facing and practitioner-facing platforms.
